Plaits

Are in this spring summer - were they ever out of fashion? I always style my hair in a plait during the summer regardless.

My favourite plait is the half french braid.  It's actually really easy to do, just takes a bit of practice. So to save yourself money at the hairdressers I have found just the step by step tutorial you need.

Great Weekend

This weekend was so much fun.  I met up with one of my best friends from home, Katie (I'm from Hertfordshire but have since moved to Kent).  First it was drinks and food in Borough Market and then we went to London Fashion Weekend.  Lots of photos taken, so many gorgeous clothes and purchases made.  I'll take some pictures of what I've bought and go into more detail during the week.  We saw a catwalk show which was cool.  Colour blocking and frills were at the forefront of the show.  The only thing I regret is that I wish we went earlier - we ended up arriving about 4pm and it closed at 7pm.  When you purchase your ticket you can choose to either attend in the morning or afternoon - by the time we got there we were tipsy because we decided to go drinking first to catch up - bad move as we seemed to wonder a bit aimlessly but it was such a laugh.   I got to see Kate and spend some quality time with her so that's the main thing.

The Tide - New Track

Mark's new track - The Tide is being released on Joris Voorn's label Rejected in the coming months.

Here is Joris playing it in Brazil a couple of weeks ago....crowd seem to love it when it drops towards the end of the video.

Fingers crossed it'll do well - I think it has a really cool vocal.   Just in time for promoting in Miami at the end of March.

Angels Face - Gift Idea

Super cute website for little girls.   I have four nieces so I'm always on the look out for new ideas for presents and someone recommended this website to me.

Check out the gorgeous skirts - for dress up or to actually wear out.  I think I would have been in my element if I had been given a skirt like this when I was younger.

A photo says a million words

I absolutely love this photo, I've just seen it again for the first time in ages.  This is my sister laughing and me hiding underneath the veil.  I don't even remember what we were laughing about - this was taken on her hen weekend in Bath.  A real sister caught in the moment picture, isn't it great?  I love to see other people laugh, especially those you care about.  ha ha what I do remember though is 5 minutes later her falling off the chair - she was laughing like this, so funny!

My sister is Spanish so we dressed her as a flamenco dancer....the evening was a spanish theme.  Really good idea for a hen weekend theme :-)

Tonight is my night off!

Tonight I'm chilling and relaxing, watching lots of TV and drinking red wine!  I'm trying not to drink too much alcohol these days so I am only drinking red wine when I do at home.  It's a health drink right?

It's my treat night, no working out!!  You need a treat night, there is no point going full scale and then getting bored, I think it's healthy.   Only for one night this week though, counting the days until Japan....

I never used to like red wine, I've only very recently started to drink it.   If I drink white, it has to be a sauvignon blanc - needs to be nice and dry.  I can't stand these rose wines or sweet wines.

On track.....

I'm feeling really good at the moment, well on the way with my weight loss and working out.  So far I've lost 10lbs so I'm on track for Japan and hopefully fitting into most of clothes that are hanging in my wardrobe.  I must admit I have been working out a lot - I'm talking at least 2 hours a day.  But you gotta do these things if you want to stay healthy and feel good!

I'm a bit late reporting this - I've been non stop this week with other bits that I haven't had much of a chance to catch up and blog but how good does Jennifer Hudson look at the moment.  She looked amazing in this Versace dress at the Grammys.

Old Vogue Covers

One idea I have had is to buy some vintage vogue cover prints and have them framed.   I think a set of three, these would look really cool in either my bedroom or staircase.

London Fashion Week Day 1 - Make Up

I love the smoky eye look - this takes it to a whole new level.  I don't think I would be brave enough to go out with the eye shadow meeting across my face.  But this is London Fashion Week and it's art.   Love it!

Round Sunglasses?

Round sunglasses are in this summer.   Everywhere I look and read I see these.  I really don't like them and won't be getting a pair.  I don't know what it is about them they're just not for me.

Dresses have arrived

They are absolutely gorgeous......!!! I still cannot believe I managed to purchase all three for £55 (without having to pay a delivery fee either).  Result!

Valentines Evening

We had a really nice evening yesterday, nothing too extravagant.  To be honest we don't go mad on occasions like Valentines Day or Anniversary's.  A simple meal, cards and flowers.  We'd rather spend our money on holidays or going out.  Last night Mark made soup, then salad with steak.  Perfect evening.   I hope you all had a lovely evening, with or without a valentine :-)

Joel Mull

Really looking forward to tonight as we're going to Fabric to see Joel Mull play, he's one of my favourite DJs and is such a lovely guy.  We don't get to see him too often as he lives in Sweden so will be great to catch up.  He's not until 4am though, it's gonna be a long night and I'm driving.  Totally fine with that, I'm sick of feeling rubbish after a night out and losing my Sundays.
